Working Guidelines

Wayne has a set of working guidelines that serve him well. Even a casual observer can see these surface again and again in his Issue Positions and Speeches.

Work smarter not harder. Don’t blindly bang your head against the wall, look for a way around it. Think about the problem, there is usually another way.

Avoid "All or Nothing" situations. Very seldom do we get it all. With some thought, it is usually possible to arrange things where each step toward some goal secures a lasting benefit.

Use the best idea. Start forward with your ideas, but if you see a better idea - USE IT! Progress is difficult enough even with the best ideas, don’t be burdened with a second rate plan. Think - and use the best ideas available.

Get multiple benefits. We can not afford everything, every dollar spent must provide multiple benefits - it must advance multiple goals. Enough thought can most always produce a way.

Always look ahead. Prepare for the future, it is coming. Details are hard to predict - but the general shape of things to come can be seen - if you think about it.

These guidelines have served Wayne well - and will continue to do so as he strives to Make America Better.
